So last newsletter of the year and of course if I don’t get asked to continue doing the newsletter it could be my last one I create !!!
Now is the time to start building those winter projects which you have had stashed away in storage, get the building board out, find your modelling pins and stock up on your glue.
Currently I am building a Chris Foss Phase 6 slope soarer. This model has been around for many years and has been on my wish list for a while. The kit comes with a building booklet with a separate update to the booklet. Its not the best booklet and many times have taken to Google to view a build log article a guy did in Sussex , its a very good build log and he mentions all the mistakes he made due to the information within the booklet being not exactly clear something I can agree with him on.
Coming up there are two very important meetings.
Indoor Meetings
Firstly we have the club AGM which is the only formal meeting we as a club hold. This is an opportunity for you listen to the club elected officers give their end of year reports.
It is also an opportunity for you to stand for election to the committee if you feel as though you would like to have a go.
If you have something that you want discussing at the AGM let contact a committee member to have it added to the agenda in AOB.
This is your chance to listen to the committee and raise points regarding the club, it is no good not attending the meeting and then subsequently moan about things that could have been discussed formally.
The date of the AGM is December 3rd with a 8pm start time, venue is Marton Institute as per the other indoor meetings.
The second important meeting is the annual quiz and hot pot supper.
So as you might of guessed its a quiz with free, yes free hot pot and apple pie.
The quiz is mainly aviation both full size and models themed with the odd current affairs question thrown in, might even be some space related questions in there. Also there might be some prizes !!!
If you can bring a pen because every year we seem to go through about fifteen pens that go missing, I reckon people take them for Christmas presents
The date is as below
December 17th Quiz and hot pot, Marton Institute, 8pm start
Bonfire Night
The club bonfire night was held on Saturday 8th November.
For once the weather gods were on our side with hardly any wind, no rain and clear skies.
For those of you who attended I hope you will agree the spread of food was fantastic, homemade soup, homemade chilli, hotpot, sausage rolls and a whole table of cake. Big thanks to everybody who contributed to the great spread of food.
The fireworks were brilliant apart from some of the weakest rockets I have ever seen, I have seen bigger flashes and louder bangs when you short a lipo battery out !!!!! even the firework safety team thought the same.
Below are some photos from the event.

First of three cakes or was it four ???
Trainers/Trainees
The list of club trainers has been refreshed and their names are below.
A couple of the trainers are of an age where work does not get in the way and if contacted may be able to accommodate mid week sessions.
As a trainee get to know these trainers if needed ask for their phone numbers or use the Clubs messenger group to make contact with them.
Don’t rely on the same trainer all the time, all the trainers will offer the same amount of training and to the same standard/goal.
Training sessions are Wednesday evening and Sunday mornings weather dependant of course
Trainers :
Chris Vernon, Jason Reid, Jake Reid, Mark Conlin, Andy Harrison, Anthony Ollerton, Dave Hindley, Kev Watson
