So this will be the last newsletter of the year, hope you have enjoyed reading them.
As it is the last newsletter of the year may I wish you all a merry Christmas and lets hope that next year is a peaceful, healthy and prosperous one.
Now there a couple of important dates that need adding to your calender, phone reminder, filofax (if you are old enough to remember them) and chalk board.
Club AGM Wed; 4th December at Marton Institute
This is the only formal indoor meeting of the club calender, this is your chance to listen to the end of year reports, challenge them if needed and raise any points.
Annual Quiz and hotpot supper
This is always a good night, at the AGM you be asked if you plan on attending this event, the reason for this is to make sure we have enough food and secondly to make sure we don’t order to much food, its not cheap the catering so please indicate your intentions when asked.
The quiz will be of aviation themes (loosely !!) will a few curved balls thrown in, all I can say it watch the news.
Bonfire night
Well for once the weather gods played ball with us !!! light winds and a dry mild night.
The amount of food on offer was fantastic, ranging from pork pies to curry ,chilli and lovely cakes.
We even had a visit from from our ex chairman who was over from Spain for a visit
Unfortunately there were traffic issues for people coming through Weeton and Duncan had to abort his journey and go home complete with 2 gallons of hotpot, rumour has it he is still eating it now for breakfast, lunch and tea.
The display of night flying was really good, we had a couple of flyers attend from the Runcorn club, one of them had a glider set up for night flying the LED lights the best I have personally seen. The glider was a Volantrex Phoeinix to which he had added LED’s
The Runcorn members very kindly brought some big fireworks along for the club to let off.
Once again Jake had done a great shopping trip for our fireworks, not sure they were all legal !!! but fantastic.
I was especially impressed with the hand held canon fireworks which were more like mortars. If you search Youtube or our Facebook page you can see them in action.
The Weeton flashers put on a great display with co-ordinated flying wings fitted with LED’s. I say co-ordinated I think it was an exercise in survival.
The bonfire was again a fire in an oil barrel but due to the extreme heat I feel it is a goner, at one point we had it glowing red hot.
A great evening.
Below are a few of the many photos taken on the night

Trainers/Trainees
The list of club trainers has been refreshed and their names are below.
If you are a trainee please bear in mind the vast majority of these people work during the day so if you turn up at the field on a Thursday morning for example please don’t get annoyed that there are no trainers there.
A couple of the trainers are of an age where work does not get in the way and if contacted may be able to accommodate mid week sessions.
As a trainee get to know these trainers if needed ask for their phone numbers or use the Clubs messenger group to make contact with them.
Don’t rely on the same trainer all the time, all the trainers will offer the same amount of training and to the same standard/goal.
Trainers :
Chris Vernon, Jason Reid, Jake Reid, Mark Conlin, Andy Harrison, Anthony Ollerton, Dave Hindley, Kev Watson
